About Jill Blackman

Jill Blackman is a visiting professor in digital journalism at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.

Jill also serves as a digital strategist working with several news media organizations on interactive content and multimedia strategy.

She previously worked as a multimedia news editor on Yahoo’s daily news mobile application, the Yahoo News Digest. She also worked as a Chicago Editor for Yahoo. She was a reporter, producer and special project editor for the online edition of the Chicago Tribune.

Jill also works with students preparing for the SAT, ACT, GRE and college applications.

She formerly served on the board of the Online News Association.

Blackman has participated in many journalism conferences and presented on topics ranging from “Covering the War in Iraq” to “Misinformation and the Internet in the Balkans.”

Jill received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and her Master’s of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University.

In her spare time, Jill enjoys biking and photography.
